This morning the girls were arguing over what to do with me after I died. Yep. They couldn't agree. They rock/paper/scissored to a conclusion. Jovey won. My bones will be made into a skeleton for her Halloween decorations. Are you curious what Miley wanted to do with me? ;) She wanted my ashes to carry around with her wherever she went. I feel so loved. ;) Miley's consolation prize, she'll get to keep Dad that way. I didn't mention that she could probably still have her plan for me too, because I was eating breakfast and the whole thing was starting to creep me out. ;)
Jovey regularly tells me that she's the funniest one in the family. Which is just a slap in the face to me, cause Dave is not funny and Miley is funny purely by accident. . . . so. . . What a turd. I have competition. Oh well. She could be right. She says some funny stuff and I wish I was better at remembering or writing it down.
Here's one little anecdote for ya. . . Jovey farted, which isn't funny (at least to me), but then she said, 'go toots and be free.' I'm really winning on making her into a lady.
Dave and I were watching a Kevin James stand up show. I'm not a laugh out loud person usually, so I am horrible company for these kind of programs. Dave, however, laughs at everything, which makes me unsure of his reliability. How can I judge my cleverness against his generousness? huh. Maybe Jovey is right. Boo. Ok, James Corden, he is funny. He can make me laugh. And Jovey. Dang it, she does win.
My aloe plant has gone on to a better place. The backyard. As in planted not buried, but I guess planting does require a bit of that too. It was too huge for the little cubby in my library. Now the space in the library is sitting sadly with a tiny new plant of the cacti variety. I need a plant that won't grow so fast or at least not so big, but big enough to fill the space. Ugh. Oh and it can't be fragile cause I just can't handle anything like that. We'll see if this one fits the bill. Who knew I would have living things in my house one day. I never foresaw this.
All our plants are in bloom outside. Everything is looking so lovely. The honeysuckle smells awesome and my three colors of roses came up so well. Jovey has eaten strawberries and tomatoes from our very own plants. Miley lost her chance to some pesky birds, and she doesn't like tomatoes for some crazy reason. I'll be getting a net soon to cover the strawberry plants, the pinwheels aren't deterrent enough it seems.
(planting time)
We planted tons of things and probably overfilled our garden. We're learning here. Anyway, it's been fun to watch them grow. Less fun to watch some of them die, but thus is the circle of life. We have broccoli, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, strawberries, peas, raspberries, and pumpkins. The peas are from Miley's science fair experiment. They were a last minute addition and so far seem to be alive. We're hoping the ones she watered with root beer will taste that way if they bear fruit. ;)
Miley had fun all day at the college for the District science fair. She was disappointed she didn't win, but it was a BIG event. So many kids. Next year, if I am crazy enough to let her do it again we'll do a flashier project.
My shoulder still hurts. Were you waiting for a shoulder update? Yeah, probably not, but this is my life and you will listen to it. ;) Or scroll away, to each their own. I'm probably at a 70% function now. I can finally put my hair in a bun all by myself. Dave's been a trooper all these months. I cannot however, make a cactus pose. I can't rotate out yet, unless someone is forcing my arm to do it and then, OWWWW. It has to be done. I am so over the constant nagging pain. Nerves and also scar tissue breaking up. It's driving me to distraction. Seriously, DO NOT hurt your shoulders.
So two years ago I painted my whole house. It needed a facelift so all walls/baseboards/ceilings that were the original white were re-painted a new and better white. This included my bedroom and since we thought maybe we'd redo the walls as well, I did no taping and left the edges all sorts of beautiful. Well multiple samples around the room and nothing clicking left our room looking sad and me feeling sad. I don't know when I officially gave up on my room, but it happened and then I no longer noticed it looked so bad. Then came the remodel and I liked the color of paint I found for my office so I painted my bathroom that color and maybe brought it out into my bedroom some as well. So more of a mess. TWO years, that is just my guess. I am afraid it may be actually 3. No no way. ;) Anyway, so this weekend Dave helped me finish it. I can't reach up high so well yet, but I am a decent left handed painter. I think this may be the very first room Dave has painted in this house since we moved in 13 years ago. And probably his last. ;) But yay it's done, finally.

Is it weird that my room feels strange being all one color. ;)
We got rid of our love seat from the living room. I bought two chairs. I love the chairs, but I really miss that couch. It was the comfiest couch ever. I just needed a change. We bought those couches when we moved into this house. Sooooo long ago. They are still awesome, but will be awesome in a new home. Well eventually, the couch is still here, waiting to be replaced. It is hard to find a good replacement for a beloved piece of furniture. I mean I love it, but don't love the look of it. Never did, but I couldn't argue with how good it was at the time. Dave may have shed some tears and made me take a picture of him on the love seat before it left the premises. It's on his phone so he can look at it and reminisce, otherwise I would have shared it here too. ;)
Jovey passed preschool. Whew. ;) She is super ready for kindergarten. I am super ready for school to be done.
