Matilda! The Musical

Our girls got a second go at Matilda!  They were very pleased because this time around they got the parts they always wanted.  Miley is Miss Honey and Jovey is Lavender.  Miley's mic was not working properly for this show, but she did great at projecting anyway.

Catch and Release Policy

Hello Spring.  Hello lizards.  We have a strict policy of do no harm to our little friends.  So they get some love and then let go.  I'm sure they love the love part.  The naming ceremony.  They best friend pledge and handshake.  

Poor lizards.  ;)

They do love the body heat they soak up and sometimes don't want to leave. . . or maybe it's the best friend pledge really taking effect.  ;)

Dumped all these pics off my phone today. . . which reminds me maybe I should check my real camera.  What if I actually took pictures with it sometime and they are wasting away on the memory card. . . hmmmm?  Well, I'll do it later.  Right now here are some girlie pics to admire today. . .

My girls feeling all the feels about changing wards.  Jovey gave her primary teacher a hug and then immediately lost it.  When Miley saw Jovey crying she lost it.  When I saw them both crying I couldn't help it either.  Dang it.  Good luck Dave.  ;)

I programmed a Miley fingerprint in my phone for emergencies. . . apparently we had one that morning.  ;)  It did buy me a few more minutes of sleep, so there's that.

Let Freedom Ring

I bought summer dresses for the girls for Independence Day.  They both wanted to wear them immediately, which was in May.  I told them they had to wait until at least July.  They took me at my word and put them on in July, the first of July.  

I told them I had to take their picture in them since they were bound to spill something on themselves and not be able to wear them again days later. . . so here we have it. . . 

 After taking pictures they said, "Mom, you're right we should probably take these dresses off and save them for the 4th."  And then they did.  And then I asked myself why they enjoy driving me crazy so much.  ;)

 Summa summa summer time. . . almost.

. . . and then it popped, so thanks for the memories.  Time for a new sprinkler toy for 2016.

 

. . . when it wasn't raining

April showers left us, for most of the month, like this. . .

But on the day or two that we saw clear skies we took advantage of it.  

Toured the Red Hills Desert garden.  It has swings all throughout it, and a fish pond, and stepping stones to cross the stream in multiple places, and trails that wander every which way.  The girls were impressed, and so were we.  I found a couple of plants that I need to put in my yard.

 Kayenta Street art festival was a weekend between the storms.  Last year it rained which is not good when your art is chalk on the street.  We were happy we got to go this year.

I had started to move toward Miley, when she yelled to take another picture.  You can see how the perspective is warped if you're not standing in the right place to see the art.  It was really cool.  This one was painted on so we could walk on it without worry.

Miley finally earned enough money to buy her mountain bike.  She's super excited about it!  And we put training wheels on Miley's old one for Jo, so she's pretty psyched as well.

The storms brought wind so we took out a kite and let it fly in the backyard.  It's kinda freaky to do in our backyard cause I remember strict rules as a child to not fly kites except in open fields.  Ahhh.  Well, we don't have power lines, so my kids know no such rules.  How times have changed.

 I am endeavoring to keep two fish alive for a week.  These girls are not helping.  Or they think they are helping, but the fish don't appreciate it so much.  ;)

Too much rain means the girls have watched four of the Star Wars movies so far.  Dave is pretty happy about this.  ;)  Contrary to their enthusiasm displayed in this pic, they've really enjoyed them as well.

So that was our 4 days of sunshine in April.  The water has made my plants go crazy outside and the reservoir is full so that's good.  Now if only the pool would open for the summer. . .
