Some randomness for ya from my head. . .
A fuse or two blew out our drip system this past week. Not great timing to not get water. 110 feels really hot to me and I'm inside in the air conditioning. Poor plants. Getting extra water now to recuperate.
Before the water was fixed we had to open up the boxes in the ground to manually turn on the water. . . met with an unhappy sight. A giant spider chasing a cockroach. Don't know who to root for there. Called the Bug Man. I'll root for him.
Miley enjoys walking around with her eyes closed. Why? Sensory deprivation experiments? Exploring her world in a new way? Who knows. Either way it always ends the same. . . bonk, waaah. The experiments continue.
Got excited to see that my Halloween prop guru Dave Lowe has a new project for me to add to my outdoor scariness this year. That's the plan anyway.
Saw Inception. Brilliant. . . and totally freaky. It will mess with your mind. It was awesome. Plus, no sex or language issues. They do fight however. And while we're talking about it, a good place to check up on movies (theater or rental) is THIS site.
The postal service may be screwing with us. Our scary postman (Hi buddy) rang my doorbell desperately trying to get me to the door to hand me a package. He then said 'he wasn't allowed to leave it at the door anymore, new policy'. . . and then he added. . . 'not just for us, for everyone'. Ummm, weird. Why would I think the policy was just for us? Next day, different postal worker dropped package off at door without even ringing the bell. Hmmm?
Oh and UPS is slightly incompetent. Drove a package past our lovely city (way past, like into another state each time) three times before realizing they should stop and deliver it. Oops, nice one. This is where tracking really comes back to bite you.
That makes it sound like I get a lot of packages, but they must not have been too cool cause I can't think of the contents of any of them at the moment. Oh wait, Miley birthday stuff. I remember.
I need a break from my camera, or maybe from my subject matter. Taken too many pics of the near-2-year-old. . . and she's not so amendable to photos anymore. . . well you'll see, soon enough.
Kind of obsessed with polaroid pics right now. Kind of wishing I got one of those cameras for my b-day. OK, can't complain about my Nikon. Love it. Looking into faking polaroids in Photoshop anyway.
On a bagel kick. Wishing we had a good bagel place here. I guess I don't know if we don't, just haven't run across one yet. Missing the vanilla bean cream cheese though. Mmmm.
Dave had to explain Pioneer Day to a couple of vacationers from Holland with broken English. Funny. Why did they put up flags for it, I'm wondering? Now I'm feeling a little unpatriotic. . . ?
Miley laughs at shows she's watching now. Funny. Before it was just a solid stare and maybe a crack of a smile once in awhile. Now she giggles. It's great.
I can't stand unloading the dishwasher. It's not even hard, or that time consuming, but for some reason it irritates me to do it. . . because I just fill it back up immediately after emptying it. Nasty cycle.
Now I'm thinking about Notting Hill and the crazy roommate's same theory with laundry. Hmmm.
Read an interesting article about how the internet is rewiring our brains. . . in a bad way. Comprehension and attention spans. It has something to do with all the added distractions when you read on the web. . . aka links, ads, pics, flashing things, etc. I just thought of that after I added another link to this post. ;) Of course, if you want to retain any of this then we have other problems. I could recommend a couple of good books. ;)
Speaking of books, so looking forward to Mockingjay! Kind of bittersweet. It's the finale of the only series I'm liking at the moment. Sad. Any suggestions?
Well, that's it for now. I'm thinking I'm nearing blogging burnout so I'll probably reduce the number of posts for awhile. I think I need to increase the suspense of my audience. Being predictable is just not interesting enough for me. It's time to keep you guessing, or risk losing you to boredom because I am bound to start repeating myself. . . or continue to do so, I don't even know at this point. Have I mentioned it's hot? ;)
I noticed a definite lack of caring today as I cut out some primary activity invites. They weren't all the same size. Symmetrical, smetrical. Whatever. Randomness is part of their charm.
Well this isn't usual for me. I don't know what happened. I even pulled out the old invite from a year previous and swapped the dates. Can you say lazy? So not like me. I hate repeating myself. I get bored making things more than once. I don't do mass production well. I don't get the charm of deja-vu. ;)
How do I account for this? I'd like to blame the heat, because one, it's excessive, and two, I can't think of anything else.
Well wait, I guess it just doesn't register on my priority list. The kids aren't impressed with any of it and I'm sure it barely makes it home before the garbage snatches it from their grasp. Oh well. Apathy setting in. The spark of service has fizzled and now I'm your run of the mill help. Sorry Brit. Fire me if you must. ;) Or take over the invites if they shame you with their similarities and lack of creativity. I would understand. In fact I may judge you for not thinking ill of my repeat work. ;)
Once again, oh well. Do I say that enough? Yep, definitely apathetic. For some reason that makes me smile. huh.
Miley loves shoes. Miley has a 'what's yours is mine attitude' about shoes. Miley has a new love of baby dolls. Miley's baby doll has removable shoes. . . (that's right, it's a real live Geometry proof, see Math is Life) but that's another story ;) . . .

Do you ever think that you have super powers? Not like you can don a cape and fly or anything. Well if you have those thoughts then maybe my husband can help you out. ;) I'm talking little ordinary awesomeness. OK, maybe it's just me. . . well not just me, my stuff too.
Like how I think that I'm immune to sunburns now, well for a few years now. Yep, true story. Superness.
I have a super cell phone too. On our recent vacay my phone charger got busted. I don't know how. I'm blaming Dave. ;) It was his only thing to pack. Go figure. So to sustain my little phone we had to replace it with some generic multi-adaptable charger found at the 'knowledgeable' Best Buy in the area.
My orange phone is magic. Well, was magic. It could last FOREVER without charging. Yeah, like years. I don't remember when I received this miraculous phone, but I swear I've only charged it like twice. OK, well I didn't actually keep count, but I'm sure that's dang close. And it always has a signal. Maybe it's because it's orange. Magic. Well, I plugged it into the new 'charger' in Idaho because I wanted to see if it worked. Yeah, it sucked the magic right out of my phone. I've now seen the icon with less than a full battery. Weird, that's new.
I've charged it like 30 times since then. Once again, I can't be sure about the accuracy of these numbers. ;) Bummer deal. Truly disappointed. It's met it's kryptonite. Dave's only comforting words were, 'now you're just like the rest of us'. . . bah. Oh and, 'it won't be long before the iPhone to goes to Verizon anyway.' Yeah we've been waiting for that for what, years now? Stupid Apple.
I don't really know why this happened, but I've fallen into a tradition or trend or maybe just a rut. . . a tulle filled rut. ;)
I noticed this strange coincidence when I was getting Miley's outfit ready for her TWO year old pictures. I guess I just can't get enough of tutus, because her valentine photos from the past two years were in tutus and then her one year old pic was as well. What the? How did I not notice this? I hate being predictable. Dang it. At least this year I departed from the baby pink.
Oh well, one more pic with tulle will have to be tolerated, because I don't have time for a plan B. Stay tuned for another tutu-riffic pic coming soon. . . well soon-ish, I'm still behind on practically everything right now.
Ok, I've dragged this vacation posting out way too long, so I'm just going to finish up here with a few firework related pics. . . since these were Miley's first experience with fireworks. She slept them through last year. . . and well probably wished she had this year too.
Fam if you want to see more then email me and I can give them to you. . . I think I'm losing my audience with all this recap nonsense. ;) and I'm bored of it and have way too many pics to include. Yep, I'm giving up.
So anyway, Dave won this huge thing of fireworks from a work party. wahoo. Because we're big pyros or something. Yeah, totally excited. No exclamation point. ;) It didn't fit in my car, yes it was pretty big, but the blame probably lies more with the amount of crap I pack for vacations. My sister drove it up for us. Thanks Kari for risking your life and Tiff's with the flammables in your trunk. ;)

The sorting and editing of photos continues. It's all I have time for anymore, which isn't good because I've got a lot of projects starting to pile up. Oh well, here's the next installment of fam vacation 2010. . .
Kari's birthday dinner in the mountains. . . things to notice in these pics. . . the way Miley and I are dressed compared to everyone else, Miley's face (this was the site of the accident and the last time it was scab free for the rest of the vacation), it's never really dark in any of the photos because I could only stand the great outdoors for so long. ;)
